Old Wallets

Hey guys so back when I was around 16 years old I got into bitcoin/dogecoin. The laptop I was using back then had died and I left it aside. Now I took the hard drive out and started looking back into bitcoin and I see I have all my old files, I had installed Bitcoin 0.6.3 BETA, and Dogecoin Core 1.10, and wallet.dat's now my question is how would I retrieve my old wallets? Sorry I'm still kind of new to this all and just recently got back into this.

If I could get some help that would be great. How would I begin this process of using those old wallets?

Do you have a backup in your old wallet before?
You can insert it in new wallet
Find in folder your wallet and paste there.

Not quiet sure what you're asking. I have my old harddrive and all it's files, including wallet.dat's. How do I insert into a new wallet?

It's in your appdata folder. Make sure in your folder options "show hidden files" is checked. Navigate to the user folder that had dogecoin-qt installed, then appdata->roaming->dogecoin.

Keep us posted on how this goes, I hope you had a nice amount in your btc wallet, as that would be a good amount now and with BTC soon to peak old wallets are awesome to find!

Figured it out, turns out theres nothing in my old bitcoin wallet haha and it's encrypted and I can't remember what password I may have used ... time to check the dogecoin wallet.
