Yep its happening here in Australia too, they are now planning to take our 100 bills away, and a few of the smaller domination coins have already gone.
The cashless society is coming so now it's just up to each individual to choose what they want.
Don't let the governments and their banking friends tell you that you must use their service, make your own choice.

Indeed. The 1 and 2 cent coins are already obsolete and have become collector's items.

I personally think that bitcoin is a better alternative than credit cards, because it is decentralised and anonymous. You are exposing your transaction to government surveillance if you use credit cards, while that won't happen with bitcoin :)

Don't let the government control your future.

Yes the 1 and 2 cents coins have already gone and the 5 cent piece should follow soon because it costs something like 7 cents to make each one and they are not useful anymore, not even parking ticket machines will take them anymore.

Just remember that bitcoin is not completely anonymous and as long as the government can tie an address to you then they will be able to track your expenses just as easily as with credit card payments.

Yeah, i do understand that. However it is definitely a lot better than credit card payments.

If you are worried about government tracking then you should probably use a coin mixer, to minimise the risk of getting tracked.

Also, using multiple change addresses often helps as well, instead of storing all your coins and processing every transaction on one address.

Bitcoin seems like the obvious choice to solve a lot of problems and ease a lot of burdens. There has long been too much bureaucracy in the financial space in MOST countries.

Bitcoin is Cash 2.0
