The big thread about multisig

P2SH, aka "multisig", should be adopted by all wallets. This is the big thread about it.

The simple fact that there are still wallets today that are not using Multisig is embarrassing. There's zero reason not to use it and if a wallet provider doesn't have it in their software yet, I implore users to find a new wallet. Multisig is a no-brainer.

What's the most secure but convenient way to "multisig" a trezor, a laptop and an android phone? Is it even possible?

It is Case, for ease: http://choosecase.com

But if you don't want to pay the $200, just get a GreenAddress.it account and turn on 2-of-3 Multisig, and in the options you can even choose what devices get which 2FA requests. (So you can set your phone or your laptop to be your other key.)

My favorite setup is Copay because it is very hard to screw up and very secure and can be done by yourself as the only cosigner.

Pick two different devices that you own and install Copay on it. (It's better if they are different platforms such as Android and home PC) On one Copay installation create a shared wallet that has two copayers and needs two signatures. Share the the link with the other installation and join the wallet. Make sure to write down the 12 words for each device. It's VERY hard to steal your bitcoins or lose them accidentally as long as you actually write down the words on paper and don't store them electronically.

Perhaps part of the reason is the lack of adoption by the core developers. Bitcoin core has ZERO support for multisig UI-wise, the only way to use multisig is by going into the console. Sure it's pretty easy to create a multisig address using the console but every spend needs to be a raw transaction which many people are uncomfortable with. I don't develop in C but I do web development, I don't think it would be that difficult to add some input boxes and drop-downs (choose M of N desired) that can generate the multisig address for a user. And then to spend something similar to https://coinb.in that will assist the user in generating the raw transaction with an input box for the private key. Once signed by Bob he can send the hash to Alice which she can easily input into her wallet and enter her private key.
