Censorship in /r/bitcoin continues...

Tue Nov 01, 2016 3:08 pm

Yet another sad day in bitcoin-land, as we learn about even more censorship in the /r/bitcoin legacy subreddit. It's sad because the mods openly say they are censoring discussion there and yet people that do not visit other subs outside of /r/bitcoin have no idea.

You can read the post which was submitted to /r/btc here:

/r/btc is a bitcoin subreddit dedicated to an open and free discussion about bitcoin. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's unethical.

Reddit provides a free platform for discussion while /r/bitcoin is manipulating new and old users of Bitcoin to push their crooked agenda.

It's like a bunch of bad guys storm the news room and take over the air waves, then continue to stick around and peddle bullshit.

In my opinion, Reddit is openly allowing human wrights issues, amongst many other issues, to continue on. If I were the CEO of Reddit, I would close down /r/bitcoin or donate it to charity.

Unfortunately many still go there and newbies going to find bitcoin on reddit always find it. People who stay there are being conditioned into thinking this is acceptable behavior which is most concerning.

I've never seen anything like it, in over 20 years of business online, some real hitler regime in 2016...

My post about Bitcoin Unlimited was moved to altcoin discussion from the bitcoin discussion subforum on bitcointalk. I'd suggest creating an altcoin discussion for Bitcoin Core/SegWit on this forum in a response. :D

Anyway, as of today I am running a Bitcoin Unlimited node instead of Bitcoin-core. I never even updated to 0.13.1 (SegWit).

Good choice to stay away from Core / Segwit.
