What do you guys think.. is it safe to store substantial funds in blockchain(dot)info wallet?

How much you mean by substantial? .. I would only keep a large amount of BTC on a hardware wallet, like electrum. You never know with these online wallets/exchanges though blockchain info has been around forever and is trusted. They have no access to the bitcoins either, so it can be used if you take appropriate precautions and do your research
