Is it possible? ....getting back sent bitcoins.

Mon Sep 19, 2016 3:56 pm

Hello Gents, Let me preface this by saying that I am super new a bitcoin transactions and escrow. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. So here is what has happened...

I was asked to go to a escrow website and setup a transaction so I can purchase something from the seller. He sent me two different escrow companies I could choose form along with their wallet id/ key. I chose a escrow service and setup the transaction. However, in doing so I accidentally gave one of my receiving addresses for my wallet as the receiving address and not the sellers.

Furthermore, I realized this after sending my bitcoins to the escrow companies wallet id#. I waited for 10 confirmations then tried to go in and dispute the transaction (to cancel it), but the service was saying that I acted to quickly and the payment hasnt been received yet. So I emailed the escrow companies "support" email. I havent heard anything back from them yet. It has been about 12 hours since I sent the coins and I still cannot login to dispute the transaction.

I thought about just going through with the transaction, but the site is still saying they havent received payment. (79 confirmations on my electrum wallet now).

I would really love some advice!
Thanks guys!

I sorry to hear about your situation, next time use a mutually agreed apon escrow provider.

Can you provide us with the .onion site addredd and also the bitcoin address they had you send coins to?

Nobody can get your coins back for you unless the receiver sends them back unfortunately but if you provide the above information then it will not only warn other members about the site but someone may also be able to track the address a little further for you.

Thanks for all the responses. I think I'm going to give it a few more days to be optimistic. I have emailed them but have not got a response. However, the seller said that he is going to see what he can do as well. I do not want to shame a site that doesn't deserve it. That being said, I do plan on posting the URL , wallet id #, and anything else I can drum up to see if it seems normal. I will also post what happens during this process as it happens.

The main cause for the concern is after 100+ confirmations, when I try to verify the funds on their site it says "Too fast. fund have not been accounted for or payment has been cancelled" . Like I said I will provide follow up information later this week.

Thanks for the assistance!

I hope this all works out for you in the end and i hope you have learnt a good lesson from this, never trust anyone on the net.
Even if they are offering you a service like escrow so you won't get ripped off, always think ahead and double check any sites they are trying to take you to.

Please keep us updated, thanks.

Bitcoins are irreversible. However, depending on the situation, recovery may be possible. If you sent the coins to a third party site, it will be necessary to work with said party to get them back.

Not sure about this, but I never experienced a chargeback. All you can do right now I think is contact them.

update...

http://safextwjbxxjcenz.onion/

"The Safe Escrow"

is a scam site.

Took them three days to respond then wanted to continue escrow "via email", because their website was "messed up".

That being said, I will further show how dumb I am...

Do not trust "Africa Products" http://africagdzf2ae5aw.onion/

This is a scam that I didn't want to believe....but it is. I'm 90% confident that the same people own both sites.
Yes, I'm sure I will get flamed but I don't want anyone else to lose money to these clowns.

Hopefully I can save another person from a stupid mistake.
