Fastest & Cheapest Way to Power Your Mining Rigs [ASIC Mining Panels]

Fri Nov 29, 2019 7:58 pm

Hey,

I recently found a powerful technology that cuts the cost of power distribution for my Antminer S9s. I wanted to share my discovery because it’s new to the market, and I don’t think too many people know about it yet.

I found while I was looking for a power distribution solution for a new expansion to our mining farm.

In our previous setups we used a combination of Crypto Slayers and 15A/250V C13 cables.

In the new setup we used ASIC Mining Panels (AMP) 30A 240V PDUs.

I can’t share url links here, but I encourage you to google ASIC Mining Panels. They are the first result. They are an interesting company that produces a variety of application specific Power Distribution Units.

For 12 Antminers, this helped us save on cost and effort.

-----------------

With our old solution, it cost us

1 Crypto Slayer x $225 = $225

12 15A/250V C13 Cables x $7.49 = $89.88

Total = $314.88

-----------------

With the AMP solution, we bought 3 30A 240V PDUs

3 30A 240V PDU x $84.99 = $254.97

-----------------

An another alternative would have been to use

Value Crypto Whip 30A but each outlet can only run C13 cables with 7.5A. I wasn’t able to find any C13 cables that ran at 7.5A and could power a 1400W Antminer.

It would have been pricier than the AMP solution.

-----------------

The main concern we had with the AMP solution was the lack of a circuit breaker on the product itself. However, we talked to the engineers at AMP and this is not an issue as long as the circuit breaker on the power box is rated for whatever your amperage needs are. This is actually how all of the electronics in your home function (they rely on the breaker box to trip).

Anyway, would love to hear the community’s thoughts on this nifty piece of equipment. I have been really happy with the product so far; cheaper products, easier setup, miners powered, no issues.
