Where does the last four of your SSN and date of birth go when buying?

When you purchase with a credit card they ask for the last four of your SSN and date of birth. Why is this required? Is that information stored? Where does it go? If someone with malicious intent got a hold of that information, what could they do with it?

Good question but i don't know how much of an anon buyer you will be anymore if you do purchase btc with credit card.

I don't think anyone could do much with just the last 4 digits of your SSN but if they have your DOB as well then they maybe
able to link it in some way but doubtful.

The information they request would be needed for them to operate their business legally under KYC and AML laws, do you know from what country the exchange has a licence to operates?
If you check the site that is asking for this info then they should have a contact email address or even check FAQ as someone may have asked this question before.

I have only tried to purchase bitcoin directly with a credit card from this site - right under the 'buy with a credit card tab'. Didn't think much of it at first but after purchasing my mind played games on me.
