How to login into Bittrex? (I forgot where do I get 2FA)?

Thu Oct 03, 2019 6:55 am

In my reminder file I found:

Email: my@mail.com
Password: mypassword
2FA code: 16 letters long string

So I used email&password to log in into Bittrex. Which now requires some 6 letters code. But how do I use that 16-letter-long code to generate 6-letter code?

Hi FlyButterfly,

Good to see you on the Forum again!

We're you using 2FA (two-factor authentication) before at Bittrex? If not, there should be some method to add to 2FA to your account (I understand you'll need to first be logged in to do that). Maybe they have a link somewhere on their site for users who find themselves in the same situation.

The 2FA code comes from an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator).

Please disregard my previous reply above. After rereading your post I see that the 16 digit code is a backup code and that you would have already set 2FA if you have that already.

Now that I think more about it that 16 digit code is probably the 2FA private key itself. If you try adding that to your authenticator app it will likely generate the 6 digit 2FA codes that you need to for logging into Bittrex.
