Pi was created by three Standford grads (one of which is currently a professor there) and they are in the BETA phase: think Bitcoin in 2008. But they need us to help them build the infrastructure and have a network of support.
You would have the ability to trade it in app as of Q4 this year, with hopes to get listed on most exchanges by 2020. If you want to know more, check out their FAQ.
Full disclosure: this is a shot for the future, not for now. BUT it is completely passive (open the app once a day to keep accumulating).
