i guess you will say that the book was alot better - most times that is the case because the book has alot more details than the film.

Finished the book today. I liked the main character a lot. His thinking processes was very scientific and he was always planning things with exact detail and planning for any possible mishaps, hard to do on Mars. ha ha
My only complaint would be I feel the author wrote the book planning for it to be made into a movie. I felt in many sections I was just reading the script to a movie and not a novel.

watched it today and i guess you will like the book more than the movie. it is not a bad movie but the main problem is Matt Damon. he always looks the same and is not authentic. the fight of survival wasnt authentic too.

i would give a 7/10

I also watched this movie yesterday. The book was better because it has like 3 times the detail. I thought Mr. Damon didn't capture the character from the book that well. The space scenes and scenes on Earth in NASA we good I thought.
It is funny to see what they took from the book, and what they didn't. If anyone likes this movie I strongly recommend reading the book because there is a whole lot more there.
Oh and also the shots of the Martian landscape were good at times.

Watched it a few days a lot. Liked it! But my girlfriend was bored
So I guess u should be ready for slow leisurely narration
