Hi, I recently made a Bitcoin payment with cash instead of core. Is there a way to retrieve the funds? Thanks in advance for any help.

What do you mean you made a payment with cash instead of core? Can you be more specific? Did you mean you sent bch to a btc address?

Please contact the receiving party and let them know.

The keys are the same on each chain (BCH and BTC). Whoever controls/owns the BTC private key (for the BTC public address you've sent to) may be able to recover the BCH by importing, or sweeping, the BTC private key into a wallet which supports BCH.

If you sent the coins to a merchant, or through a 3rd party invoice, they may not be willing to risk the time or security to recover the coins. If you sent the coins to someone using a custodial wallet the same will probably apply.
