I stupidly sent USDT to my bitcoin wallet. Is there any way to fix this?

Wed May 22, 2019 6:26 pm

Hi. The subject line pretty much sums it up; I made a total newbie mistake and sent USDT (tether) from Poloniex to my bitcoin wallet. What, if anything, can be done to fix this?

Any help or ideas will be appreciated!

Urgently contact customer support. Attach all the screenshots that you have.

Hi Marc,

You'll need to sweep or import your bitcoin private key into a wallet which supports Tether.

The keys are the same because Tether is part of the omni layer on top of BTC.

If you need more help with this please feel free to comment again here.

Please never share your private key(s) (or backup phrase / mnemonic / seed words) with anyone. Moreover, when adding them to a wallet application please make sure to exercise due diligence (is the wallet app safe and secure?).
