This policy of "my way or the highway" is only going to undermine /r/btc as a free and uncensored forum, if criticism of moderator policies, actions, behavior or character all result in a quick ban and no appeals.
I've found that /r/btc has no censorship, however - people are banned for violating moderation policies.
In this case, the user, a Blockstream Core employee, was repeatedly warned to stop violating moderation rules. Clearly, the users goal was to cause aggravation.
On /r/bitcoin, everyone is censored and users are frequently banned with-out notice. Yesterday, Erik Voorhees, CEO of Shapeshift and prominent member of the Bitcoin community, unsubscribed from /r/bitcoin due to it being a "stagnant pool of vitriol and group-think".
I obtain complaints from both reddits each day and can provide a transparent view of both.
