Re: Complaints from Bitcoin Users

Bitcoin has stopped growing.
"The reason is nothing as silly as new users not being interested leading to a fall in demand, it is as simple as 'there are not enough seats on the bus'.

When you design a system and leave a cap in place then that system will reach capacity and saturate. Initially transaction fees rise as people try to use bitcoin as before.

The danger zone is when on chain transactions begin to fall consistently.

Once that happens then a large part of the speculative value which is built on future expectation of a growing ecosystem will evaporate.

Or we begin to use a version of the bitcoin software such as bitcoin unlimited - which signals to the miners and the rest of the ecosystem that the userbase wants on chain scaling before bitcoin fails." - Joloffe

Interesting bullet points from Bitmain R&D Director on Lightning Network
"Intro: "Make Bitcoin Great Again" - the implication being its being crippled now and LN is the only thing that can save it.

Use Cases: Hub nodes like Exchanges/Wallets (centralized services!)

Even the director says its "less decentralized" (due to hub nodes)

Funding transactions still limited by block size

LN takes a "fat cut" of miners profits, reducing bitcoin's network security (!)

No cold wallets/storage (private keys must be online to sign tx)" - blockologist

I bought my first btc early 2013 and I am just shy of 63btc. I have invested around 20k Euro to get to this number. I believe in the potential of it and always thought that it could potentially be the future in many ways.
"But the fact that BTC doesn't seem to progress at all and even worse, we have thugs like theymos and others censoring and therefore stalling everything that doesn't fit their hidden agenda is troubling me. I am still holding, but I will start to diversify into ETH just to be on the safe side. Something I have never imagined I'd ever say out loud. And if nothing changes soonish I am not sure how much longer will stay in the BTC game. In todays age when technologies moves so fast, the ones that don't adapt or scale just fade away. And the way I see it, BTC is headed in exactly this direction." - TheD1ceMan

I really, really, really like to understand the mindset of the SHA256 miners. They built or bought mining hardware for millions of dollars to mine Bitcoin and now they just stand there and watch how non-SHA256 coins are eating Bitcoins lunch.

Regular users are losing patience. Greg is in panic mode. Core's FUD about hard forking has just been incontrovertibly proven wrong. Loony Luke is now saying "no one promised to release segwit by any date" and simultaneously that Core's agreement to code a 2MB hard fork is contingent on Segwit being released - in other words, /u/Jihan_Bitmain, you're never getting your fork code.
"The Core team is just making shit up as they go along. You, F2Pool, and the other miners have been repeatedly lied to and swindled, as many many people have been trying to tell you would happen for months. Now is the time to stop this nonsense.

I'm with you OP, even if Blockstream legitimately wants to destroy bitcoin, I have no clue why miners are actively going along with them. They have already forfeited an enormous amount of money and goodwill by sticking with Core. The miners should be in control of their own destiny, rather than beholden to Core's trail of broken promises and threats." - ChairmanOfBitcoin
