Blockstream Core are scammers and so we take out the trashI made a thread on /r/btc yesterday https://redd.it/4qu4s6 pointing out more misinformation by Theymos. This morning I wake up to this on twitter:
https://twitter.com/SatoshiShinohai/sta ... 6888104960
Just because I use that site (I am not the owner or even work for them although I have been accused of it many times) this guy is going to not use a bitcoin business because I use /r/btc. How petty can some people get? I wonder how many others have this kind of mentality towards people that don't support blockstream/core. Wonder if i used every bitocoin site if he would quit bitocoin.
I often try not to use a site if I think the ad is shit or in my face or leads to shit posting. (bct)I made a thread on /r/btc yesterday https://redd.it/4qu4s6 pointing out more misinformation by Theymos. This morning I wake up to this on twitter:

I wonder if when you checked my post history if you noticed that all those xotika posts were in the 2 xotika service threads created for news and info about the channels on the site not spammed everywhere?

I'm not blockstream/core. I hate ads generally.
I checked your post history on bct.
It is very nearly all exotica spam ads.
It put me off too.
There is no doubt in my mind that once Core is in the past, after a handful of months, Bitcoin will be back to normal and headed in the right direction once again.Super sad to see stuff like this. I've been targeted as well since I'm a mod on /r/btc. When I post or comment on /r/bitcoin my posts always get downvoted immediately. I've also had some veiled threats on Twitter too and some nasty comments on reddit.
This makes me sad because although we all have different goals and views on Bitcoin, we all have the best goals in mind, to make Bitcoin successful for everyone and at the end of the day we are one community. All the infighting has created such a toxic community making everyone at odds with each other.
Thinking a bit more positively, real leaders know how to adapt to the market and lead by example (instead of quitting). Real leaders would see the market feedback and adjust accordingly. Obviously you can't make everyone happy, however, anyone in business knows that if you have a product (especially one that is low volume as compared to the rest of the market you are in), you have to make sure you are competitive in the market to succeed. Not literally driving people away as your business model. You can't compete when you drive people away because there will be nobody left to use your product. Exactly, I do agree, however - the situation that we are in now, there is too much trust gone, too much hate, it's purely toxic. How many days has this caused you grief? In this case, you have to step down or people step away.Thinking a bit more positively, real leaders know how to adapt to the market and lead by example (instead of quitting). Can you cite your source on that please? I'd like to read about it.One thing I did hear is that Gregory Maxwell is planning to take his technology and launch it on its own, this is a smart business plan. If they take the Blockstream strategy and work with traditional banks, they will do well. It's just not a workable plan for Bitcoin.Thinking a bit more positively, real leaders know how to adapt to the market and lead by example (instead of quitting). Interesting. I had a hard time finding the quote, so here is the link to it for anyone else:Can you cite your source on that please? What he stated is the best outcome for him and those close to him.Interesting. I had a hard time finding the quote, so here is the link to it for anyone else:Can you cite your source on that please? I think maybe you are taking what he said out of context. In the context of Blockstream devs working on Classic if it were to out-compete Core, Maxwell says he would give up on the market and make another coin. I wouldn't read that as going to work for banks, but what he said that he would create another currency in the hopes to make it decentralized. The problem is he is stating that Classic would not be decentralized, which appears to be a false statement.

How would you go about supporting a site you enjoy? Keep in mind no pay for this other then some I got from the sig campaign. The site can only advertise in bitcoin/crypto communities or all you get are people trolling the models that have no interest in learning about bitcoin. It's adult so that limits ads on reddit 2 2 or 3 subs with almost no traffic. Can't buy ad space on most forums and the ones you can are way too expensive. Most bitcoin ad sites don't allow adult or strictly limit the sites. So with that in mind how would you try to help a bitcoin site grow and get news out about it?
I rarely read that sight. Used to follow a few threads but reading there just gives me a headache. When I did read I rarely posted. Tried to keep to support/mining areas. I prefer to read reddit and here or hand out on IRC although IRC is pretty dead. You are right, you did post in the relevant threads.I wonder if when you checked my post history if you noticed that all those xotika posts were in the 2 xotika service threads created for news and info about the channels on the site not spammed everywhere?

I had noticed that, but not realised the relevance.
You genuinely like your advertised site.
You were not spamming forum, in the way many sig campaigners do.
(i kind of wondered why you posted about almost nothing else, is that because you now post here?)
You didn't put me off looking at exoticatv, but sig spammers almost certainly will have.
No wonder people think you own the site, or work there.
I've never seen a sig campaigner genuinely like what they sell!
Fair play,
My point was really (trying) to say that it is not only core/blockstream supporters who suffer from this fanaticism/partisan slant.
