We believe that we need a change in Bitcoin governance.
"Thank you Bitcoin Core for giving us yet another reason to believe that even more.

No, we do not want you to give us your Compact Blocks before you give us your Segwit. We want you to give us your Segwit before you give us your Compact Blocks.

Anything else is just intentional delaying of a much needed blocksize limit increase. A delay that benefits you and your financial interests but does not benefit anyone else who is using the Bitcoin network.

We need an increase in the blocksize limit and we need a change in who is in charge of the Bitcoin node software that node operators and miners are using." - todu

Are you sure about that? Because I sure as hell paid much higher fees than necessary, and so did a lot of people.
"The network is subsidised with 2 million dollar worth of BTC every day, yet somehow we also need to pay $50,000 in fees on top of that. Paying for something which is already paid for (at least at this moment in time).

That is 18 million dollar per year. With only a simple blocksize increase that figure would have been substantially lower.

And don't get me started with Bitcoin's price which would have been much higher without an arbitrary limit.

Core's antics have a definitive cost. The only question is, if they don't profit directly, how do they profit from an arbitrary limit?

Whatever the case, it is theft nonetheless." - seweso

Bitcoin is not accessible to most of the world because of the blocksize limit is limiting the number of transactions and the amount of people that can use Bitcoin.
"Fidelity Investments wanted to flip the switch on their beta program but told Jeff Garzik they can't because Bitcoin does not have the capacity. Its a big problem. You can bet if Bitcoin could scale many huge financial companies would get in on it and bring Bitcoin to millions more people. But Greg Maxwell and BlockStream Core don't want to allow that. They want to cripple Bitcoin so they can profit off of some 2nd tier centralized solutions. $50k for 1 Bitcoin is nothing compared to Bitcoin's full potential." - sl888ter
