I have never heard of a non-custodial wallet that requires KYC before.

Verification is evil when not needed. I would much prefer to rely on a backup phrase, generated on my device than having to trust some company storing my personal details.
You don't need to be a criminal to want some privacy in life.

I would much prefer to continue using the Bitcoin.com wallet.
