I'm looking forward to seeing more episodes of the Weekly Bitcoin Roundup (please make more episodes)!

I was happy to hear Mike Hearn's Lighthouse project mentioned (and that it now uses Bitcoin Cash!) and also was happy to hear Memo mentioned!

Also I liked hearing doug polk getting called out for not knowing who Gavin Andresen is! (doug polk loves calling out others, sounds like he got a taste of his own medicine).

Excellent weekly show! Good to hear more about Miss Bitcoin and her donation platform. Also, good to hear Mike Hearn's name and his Crash Landing essay from a few years ago (which turned out to be very accurate).

Also I was interest to learn about YeeCall (I didn't know about this app until I watched this video), 33 million installs is a lot, and most importantly the integration of BCH for use in the app. Also good to hear Memo mentioned. Also good to hear the upcoming BCH upgrade mentioned.

Sorry to hear about the burning of BCH shirts and merchandise by Core supporters. I do support freedom of speech & expression but Core supporters burning BCH merchandise is a pretty low class troglodyte move, or strategy, on their part.

Ryan X. Charles, Bitcoin Cash Upgrade, 'BCASH' & Lightning Network || Bitcoin.com Weekly
Bitcoin.com - Official Channel
Published on May 19, 2018

Lots of exceptionally cool and distinctly helpful information is presented in this episode (#3) of Roger Ver’s weekly show! Including, though not limited to, the following:
  • Purse.io is now using Bitcoin Cash (BCH)! (and they’ve been paying their employees in BCH since Dec. 2017!)
  • The decentralized marketplace OpenBazaar (you can download there) now has a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange!
  • Bitcoin Pizza Day is coming up! (anniversary of May 22, 2010 - bitcoin developer Laszlo Hanecz received 2 pizzas after having made an earlier request to swap bitcoins for anyone willing to buy him some pizza!)
  • Marco Coino app (find physical stores near you, or anywhere, which accept Bitcoin Cash!)
  • An interesting story about a BTC Core developer, Luke Jr., telling customers at a restaurant to not pay for the food with BTC because BTC is not for payments and that they should use their bank cards (lol!)
  • A real life story of someone trying to use the Lightning Network (it didn’t work!)
  • Mike Hearn, creator of BitcoinJ (a Java-based Bitcoin SDK), and his Lighthouse decentralized crowdfunding projected has been resurrected with Bitcoin Cash!
  • Bitcoin operation codes (op codes) are back! Smart contracts are now possible on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain! (Bye, bye Bitcoin Core relevancy!)
In future episodes of the Roger Ver weekly show there will be a Bitcoin (BCH) giveaway so please have your phones ready to scan the private key QRcode!

I agree that the DOJ (US Dept. of Justice) should be focusing on crimes with real victims (not ICO investors).

Also I was happy to hear Gavin Andresen's name mentioned although saddened by his recent statement that he would no longer be doing public interviews. It is understandable though considering all of the never ending attacks made by Bitcoin Core supporters/maniacs.

It was great to hear the Bitcoin.com wallet mentioned, it's an exceptionally straightforward and secure wallet. Moreover, as Roger states, the wallet supports both Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin Core (BTC), so if you try both coins it will become very clear to you that Bitcoin Cash is MUCH BETTER!

The TX Highway (Live Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin Core Transaction Visualizer) website with 32 lanes now is pretty cool!

Nandibear, thanks for this and please do keep this thread going with the updates each week. It is excellent to see more of these informative videos being published on a regular basis. There are always a quagmire of discussion videos from people who have little understanding of Bitcoin yet seek to "educate" others in matters of cryptocurrencies and economics, whilst having slightly less knowledge of these topics than the border collie sitting next to me.

Excellent job by the Bitcoin.com team for ramping up a more strategic and organised approach to news updates across all the various channels.

I really like the new intro (music and visuals), A+.
-
  • The Menufy.com site looks cool (sometimes I get hungry!) and be able to order food with Bitcoin Cash (BCH) would be VERY helpful!
  • The Bitcoinrewards.com site also looks cool and I like the idea of getting BCH back (basically free BCH!) when I order products (anything), or pay for services (anything), online.
  • I'll keep an eye for the upcoming GMO cryptocurrency exchange (especially since they're going to offer BCH pairs!).
  • An IP company in the UK successfully (sort of) managed to trademark the name Bitcoin and are now trying to control (or censor) others for using the name. Seems like everything here in the US and the UK is all about paperwork and litigation. In any event, my position is that the trademark is not valid (Bitcoin is open source).
  • Very interesting news about the Bitcoin.com mining pool is setting aside part of the rewards for protocol developers. I look forward to perhaps hearing from the lead developer in next episode!
Question presented during the show : What terminology should we use for BTC? -
  • 12:20 min: Roger asks, "..What terminology should we use for [BTC], it's pretty clear that Bitcoin Cash has more Bitcoiness to it than the BTC version, I even hate to call it the BTC version of Bitcoin anymore because if it it's not digital, electronic cash, as described in the very title of the white paper, it kind of seems dirty or wrong or mistaken to call it Bitcoin. What should we call it from here on out?"
  • 12:43 min: Corbin responds, "..It could be Segwit Coin. Could call it Bitcoin Legacy. Could call it Bitcoin XP."
  • 12:48 min: Roger states, "I kind of feel like it shouldn't even be called Bitcoin if it's not peer-to-peer electronic cash. It's some sort of science project settlement layer that they're hoping the Lightning Network will work on in the future. I wish them good luck with their project but it's not even Bitcoin."
  • 13:00 min: Corbin states, "They're hoping for a Lightning coin."
  • 13:02 min: Roger states, "Should we just call it BTC?"
  • 13:03 min: Corbin states, "Just BTC maybe."
  • 13:05 min: Roger states, "Lighting ICO?"
  • 13:06 min: Corbin states, "Yeah it's an IOU at this point. That's what they're hoping to solve scalability is an off-chain IOU. And they still haven't solved the routing problem."
  • 13:27 min: Roger states, "I think maybe just call it BTC from now on and drop [Bitcoin]. Because the very title of the white paper says it's a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. The people behind BTC at this point are opposed to using it as cash. If it's not usable as cash it's not Bitcoin. So maybe we'll just start calling it BTC and we'll call Bitcoin Cash Bitcoin Cash or call it Bitcoin BCH, I don't know, we'll see."
-
  • The Bchpls.io site looks like very useful Bitcoin Cash point-sale-system for brick-and-mortar business.
  • NFC protocol technology/capability for phones/wallets is mentioned. (Near-field communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices, one of which is usually a portable device such as a smartphone, to establish communication by bringing them within 4 cm (1.6 in) of each other.)
I'm glad that Bitcoin Core (BTC) developer Eric Lombrozo's name was mentioned and that Roger shared the story about witnessing Lombrozo at a Bitcoin meetup in Silicon Valley, some years ago, which was held at a restaurant which accepts Bitcoin as payments. Evidently Eric Lombrozo (and according to episode #3 of Roger's weekly show, so were other Bitcoin Core developers such as Luke Jr.) was telling others at the meeting that they shouldn't be using Bitcoin to pay for meals at the restaurant because Bitcoin is not for payments and that they should use their bank cards or credit cards.

Episode 6:

https://youtu.be/16DxRgfnqow

I like the intro (audio and visuals)!

Episode 6 of Roger Ver’s weekly Bitcoin roundup show takes place on a yacht in Monaco, very cool-looking location!

Some of the thought-provoking topics discussed in the show include, though are not limited to, the following:

  • Lighthouse.cash is mentioned (Must check it out, Mike Hearn’s project has been resurrected on the BCH chain!) - lighthouse.cash/
  • Cryptocribs.com – CryptoCribs is an innovative vacation rental platform for the crypto community (much like Airbnb, difference is that you can pay with cryptocurrency!) - cryptocribs.com/
  • Bitcoin Gold (BTG) was briefly referenced (regarding the recent 51% attack.
  • Coinbase is coming to Japan.
  • Liberland (an island country between Serbia and Croatia) is talked about. Joby Weeks is one of the founding fathers. Apparently some energy projects are in the works and citizens might receive something similar to dividends in crypto (from mining activity which will be powered by the energy projects in Liberland). To learn more about Liberland please see: liberland.org/en/about/ and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberland

Friday Night in Seoul, Korea with Roger Ver!!! - June 15th, 2018

Episode #7 features new faces of the BCH Gang: Welcome Jin and David to Roger Ver's Weekly Bitcoin Roundup show!

Roger discusses some important topics in the show. For example (though not limited to):

  • The Bitcoin.org website got a facelift. Including, thought not limited to, the removal of links (and any reference to): Coinbase.com, Blockchain.info, Bitpay.com
  • Apparently there's some interference from the Korean government (and political pressure, and fear) when it comes to Korean citizens using cryptocurrency or exchanges operating in Korea.
  • Some good news from the Thailand Gov. - Bitcoin Cash is legal money! However, as Roger points out, "Don't ask who's going to give you permission, ask who's going to stop you." (paraphrasing Ayn Rand, "The question isn't who is going to let me, it's who is going to stop me.")
  • Recently a credit card processor in the United States (USA) shut down payments to gun shops (apparently online and in-store). Old system payments (visa, masterday, bank cards) are being censored. Starting using Bitcoin (BCH)! (permissionless digital payments!)
  • Coinnest exchange is adding Bitcoin Cash (BCH) base pairs!
Word of advice, if you're a proponent of free speech or 1st Amendment advocate you might want to stay away from r/bitcoin at reddit or the Bitcointalk.org forum.

Please tryout the Bitcoin.com Wallet! - Android, iOS, Windows, Mac and Linux!

Bitcoin News | Roger Ver Loves Lightning Network, Tone Vays Debate, Bitcoin Cash Football
Bitcoin.com - Official Channel
Published on Jun 23, 2018

Friday (June 22) at the Tokyo, Japan office!

In this new episode of Roger Ver's weekly Bitcoin roundup show we are introduced to a new member of the BCH Gang, Alfonso Rocha (Bitcoin.com Wallet lead developer)!

Lots to discuss including, though not limited to, the following:

  • Centbee, a new Bitcoin Cash (BCH) wallet in South Africa.
  • There's long road map ahead for the Bitcoin.com wallet (apparently some big surprises are arriving soon!)
  • The Bitcoin Cash mempool got up to 30MB recently (max block size is 32MB, and most pools at the moment are only configured for up to 8MB blocks).
  • Bitcoinsubway.cash (a new site to visualize the contrast between the crowded BTC mempool (1MB blocks) vs BCH mempool (32MB blocks). Note: dot Cash domains are becoming very popular!
  • The decentralized marketplace OpenBazzar is mentioned (buy and sell with Bitcoin Cash)!

Btw, if anyone reading here would like to join OpenBazzar (as a buyer, seller or moderator) I recommend downloading the dapp (decentralized application) and then connecting only through TOR (you wont type anything in the Tor browser itself, or view anything within the Tor browser itself, but the dapp will connect through Tor). If you connect just one time without TOR your IP addresses will forever be known as being associated with your OpenBazaar peer ID (you could of course start over and get another ID of course). In any event, Linux is probably the easiest way to use the dapp with Tor but there are some very helpful videos tutorials out there for setting everything up on Windows.
  • Lightning Network (LN) is discussed. It's not working and even if it was we don't want off-chain transactions. Roger Ver indicates that he is interested in the Lightning Network but more so as interesting technology.

I agree. Perhaps we can find a different use case for LN? Maybe we can find some other use case for Lightning Network other than destroying Bitcoin. Maybe it (or at least some part of LN) could be used, somehow, at exchange sites?
  • Inflation in Venezuela is discussed. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) would be most useful in Venezuela right now and would make a gimungous difference!

I've seen some remarks online indicating that paper money is being weighed, rather than counted. I hope it's not really that bad yet but I don't doubt that this might be happening.
  • Bitpay.com is mentioned. They've been accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH) payments for a while now, and that's excellent! However, apparently on the backend they aren't paying merchants (or anyone else using their invoice service) in Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Hey Bitpay, rather than converting the BCH into BTC or USD please add an option for BCH payout!
Let's start setting up BCH meetups (anywhere, everywhere)! Need help with this? Please contact jason@bitcoin.com or chris@bitcoin.com

Are you interested in getting started in bitcoin cloud mining? If so, please head over to pool.bitcoin.com! Accepted payment methods are BCH or BTC!

Bitcoin News | Can Bitcoin Cash Handle 5 Million Transactions/day? Amazon Discounts & Mt Gox Update!

Roger Ver reporting from Saint Kitts! (Friday, June 29th)

Episode #9 of Roger's Weekly Bitcoin Roundup show is packed with news and thought-provoking perspective and insight!

Some examples include, though are not limited to, the following:

  • Purse.io has finally finished integrating Bitcoin Cash (BCH)! For those who aren't familiar with Purse.io the makes it possible to use bitcoin to buy items on Amazon.com! Moreover, orders receive, on average or approximately, a 20% discount! You can name your own discount!
  • GitCash.io is mentioned. This is used for on-chain tipping (BCH) on Github. Please check it out and let us know what you think about it! Roger mentions that perhaps, maybe somewhow, possibly, Lightning (LN) could be used for this.
  • HandCash.io API (for BCH) has been integrated into Yours.org for withdraws. If you're on Yours.org (or you'd like to be) please check it out!
  • BadgerCoin is mentioned. HoneyBadger is Canada's largest and most reliable network of Bitcoin ATMs - PLEASE integrate Bitcoin Cash (BCH) into your ATMs!
  • Roger Ver's recent debate (on video) with a Blockstream supporter in Korea is mentioned. PLEASE check out the video here:
  • Bitcoin Cash Stress Test Day is coming up on, planned for September 1st (2018)! The plan is to conduct over 5 million transactions in a 24 hour period on the Bitcoin Cash newtork. This will domonstrate that we are open for business in commerce! (If you want to watch this test, you could keep your eyes glued to TXhighway.com during the stress test!)
  • Roger also discusses some news regarding Mt Gox. (litigation continues is Japan) and also recent DDOS attacks (denial-of-service attack) on Bitcoin.com
  • A recent disaster on the Lightning Network is discussed. Apparently Bitcoin Core is now suggesting the use of custodial wallets and to hold off on Lighthing (LN) for now.
Erik Voorhees' "Looting of the Fox: The Story of Sabotage at ShapeShift" is discussed. This is a MUST read (a previous employee stole lots of $$$$). It's reads like a thriller but is also a lesson learned.

If you're in Saint Kitts (or if you are planning a trip) please look for the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) ATMs! Roger has recently set up Bitcoin Cash (BCH) ATM on the island! They're using the Bitcoin.com wallet application as their point of sale!

Published on Jul 7, 2018

Roger Ver's Bitcoin Cash weekly roundup show, reporting from Saint Kitts! (Friday, July 6th)

Episode #10 is here! Some exceptionally interesting topics are covered including, though not limited to, the following:

  • The decentralized crowdfunding dapp Lighthouse is discussed. There's been A LOT of work done developing the site (not just the dapp itself). PLEASE take a look: Lighthouse.cash/ You'll also find a link on that page for downloading the dapp (decentralize application). Raise funds for your project, or fund other people's projects, with Bitcoin Cash (BCH)!
  • A interesting site called Bitcoin.jp (it's in Japanese) is discussed. I wasn't aware of this site myself. I'm glad that Roger mentioned it. It seems like an interesting site. The best way that I can describe the site would be imagining a combo of Bitcoin.org and BitcoinCash.org It appears (although I'm translating Japanese to English with google) to be an objective site with information about BTC and BCH and it's up to the readers to make up their own mind about which (or if both) is Bitcoin. I'm not entirely sure how impartial the site is. However, as indicated in the foregoing, it appears to be a pretty objective site. It's probably just that anyone reviewing the data, including the owners of the site, can see that BCH makes more sense! In any event, please take a look at Bitcoin.jp)!
  • Purse.io is mentioned! For those who aren't already familiar with the site you can make Amazon purchases with Bitcoin Cash (BCH)! Moreover, even if you're not big into bitcoin or technology you are probably ok with getting a discount! How does a 25% discount sound on Amazon purchases? At Purse.io you can name your own custom discount. To learn more please check out their site!
  • Roger talks about Coinbase Custody. It's interesting. If anyone reading here wants to learn more please listen to what Roger has to say. For additional reading on the subject please see the Coinbase blog, Coinbase Custody is Officially Open For Business (published July 2, 2018)
  • Another bit of interesting news which is talked about is Expedia.com (purchase flights, book hotels, car rentals and other deals) has stopped accepting BTC. Roger has suggested that Expedia start accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH). I hope that Expedia is listening! If anyone reading here would like to see Expedia start accepting BCH please, PLEASE, consider contacting Expedia and sharing your thoughts on this subject with them (I know I am!).
  • The CoinEx exchange is mentioned. I haven't used their exchange myself. However, Roger has and he's got some distinctively good things to say about the CoinEx exchange. Evidently this exchange offers Bitcoin Cash (BCH) base currency pairs. In other words, you can trade BCH for any of the many coins which are trading on their exchange (as opposed to having to first trade your BCH for BCH or ETH).
Roger also mentions Rick Falkvinge's name and his videos on the Lightning Network. Rick's youtube channel is We Are All Satoshi and its very much worth checking out. So if you have a few minutes please talk a look at some of Rick's thoroughly and exceptional videos on the Lightning Network (LN) and also his videos on why he supports Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

See you all back here for a discussion on episode #11 next week!

Roger Ver's Bitcoin Cash weekly roundup show, reporting from Tokyo, Japan!! (Friday the 13th!, late night!, July 2018)

This week a couple of long time members of the BCH Gang co-host the show with Roger. We have Jake Smith and Mike Malley!

Quite a few interesting topics and updates were covered including, though not limited to, the following:

  • Apparently Robinhood (crypto.robinhood.com) has enabled Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on their trading platform. Apparently they also consulted with Emil Oldenburg, the CTO and co-founder of Bitcoin.com
  • developer.bitcoin.com was recently launched! If you want to build decentralized and censorship resistant applications on top of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) please take a look!
  • Mastering Bitcoin Cash is also mentioned (VERY COOL!). Based on the book Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas M. Antonopoulos, Mastering Bitcoin Cash is the ultimate guide to the bring your knowledge from beginner to professional step by step.
  • A website called Coins 4 Clothes (a Bitcoin Cash Charity) is brought up. Apparently if you bring in (to their store) your gently used clothing (for donation) they will pay you for them in Bitcoin Cash (BCH)!
  • WeChat app is discussed. Apparently it's now possible to use WeChat as a Bitcoin Cash (BCH) wallet!
  • Tutanota, an encrypted email service from Germany, now accepts Bitcoin Cash (BCH)! Tutanota is a heavy competitor of Protonmail, an encrypted email service from Switzerland. Hopefully Protonmail will also start accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH). (Note: I've done filled out some questionnaires within my own Protonmail account regarding what I think about a payment option is cryptocurrency... so it seems like BCH might soon be an option!)
Andreas M. Antonopoulos is quoted by team (the Bitcoin.com team loves him!). The Bitcoin.com team and Antonopoulos might not agree on everything, but Antonopoulos is a smart guy.

BCH meetups are discussed. If there's a meetup in your area PLEASE consider attending. If there aren't any BCH meetups in your area please consider starting one! If you need help with getting a BCH meetup started in your area please contact Bitcoin.com!

Lastly, the next time you go to shop on Amazon.com PLEASE first signup at Purse.io and make your Amazon purchases with Bitcoin Cash (BCH) ! If you make your Amazon purchases through Purse you'll get a relatively gimungous discount (and you're able to name your own discount!)!

  • 9:56 - Honorable, positive and diplomatic remarks by Roger Ver in regard to Calvin Ayre, BSV and associates: "For the record, I think Calvin's been on the wrong side of things recently, but I like Calvin, Calvin is one heck of an entrepreneur. He gets things done, he replies so fast, he really makes things done. I would love to see him come back and support the best tool we have to bring more economic freedom to the world and that's Bitcoin Cash, and by Bitcoin Cash of course it's the ABC version. Because the SV version... I wish them good luck, but it doesn't have the network effect, it doesn't have all this stuff going for it, and probably the biggest drawback at this point is... I hate to be negative... I'm so optimistic about everything in my life... but the biggest drawback for SV is it has a particular negative personality associated with it driving it down, attacking people and just doing all sorts of stuff. I'll leave it at that. It doesn't make me happy to say not nice things about people. The community is so important and you have so many passionate and enthusiastic builders supporting the ABC version of Bitcoin Cash."
Lots more is discussed in the video: BCH use in commerce, BCH merchant adoption, unjust laws & moral people breaking/ignoring those laws. Please watch the video for more!
