Sat Nov 03, 2018 5:02 pm

The Ministry of justice of Azerbaijan is working on the introduction of technology of smart contracts in the municipal system of the country, which should ensure transparency and prevent fraud in this area. Local experts also note the need to introduce blockchain into the judicial system and notarial services.

The Ministry of justice of Azerbaijan is preparing to use blockchain technologies and smart contracts in housing and communal services (HCS), local portal Trend reported with reference to the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Internet forum (AIF) Osman Gunduz. According to him, today there was a meeting with representatives of the Ministry, who spoke about information systems and electronic services of the Ministry of justice.

According to Gunduz, now the Agency provides more than 30 electronic services and manages 15 digital systems and registers. The plans of the Ministry, according to the Chairman of the AIF, include the introduction of smart contracts in the sphere of municipal resources, including water, gas and electricity. Gunduz is sure that it"will provide transparency and will allow to cross the facts of falsification in this sphere". "The citizens themselves will be able to independently control all these processes," he added.

As the Chairman of the AIF noted, the blockchain is successfully used where the register is formed, on which most of the services of the Ministry of justice are based.

Osman Gunduz stressed that now Azerbaijan needs digitalization of the judicial system, as well as notarial services.

Earlier, the Deputy of the state Duma of Russia Oksana Bondar proposed to digitize notarial services using blockchain for residents of remote areas of the Far East.

In addition, by 2023 in Russia it is planned to create a platform "Digital profile", which will contain all legally significant data about each citizen, as well as information from the registers on the payment of taxes, driver's license and fines.
