Help! Blockchain confirmed but payment not received?

Hello,

This was my first time using BTC and I cant figure out what happened. Long story short I sent a payment on sept 30th, it is confirmed over 1000+ in my blockchain. The money is not in my wallet and the receiver claims they never got the payment as well as the site administrator on the forum. Is my BTC sitting somewhere, was it received, or do I have to do something else after sending the payment? I just dont understand where my money went, I triple checked the address and it is correct. Was my money received or is it tied up somehow? it's not in my wallet. Thank you if any admin can help me out

Did you use your BTC wallet to receive BCH? If so you should be able to recover (depending on what wallet you're using) the coins. The keys are the same on both chains.

Are you using a Bitcoin.com wallet?

Actually, I Just realized this for the first time now that you pointed it out. I used my Bitcoin.com wallet to send BCH to a BTC wallet! Is this the reason nothing is showing up for me? How would I go about recovering the BCH and transferring it to BTC, I had no idea they were completely different.

This appears to be the BTC address you sent to the BCH to: explorer.bitcoin.com/bch/address/3P4sRfsBdgWbmEvjDrJ5PkM2wqEE3iiwiz

You'll have to contact the owner of that address and see if they can recover the BCH. They private keys are the same on both chains so if the owner has the key they can sweep, or import, it into a wallet which support BCH.

The address you sent to starts with a 3 so it's a multisig address or a segwit address (which could make recovery more difficult).

In any event, your only option is to contact the owner of the address and ask them if they'll help you.

The link was for a block explorer (you can look up bitcoin addresses and transactions).

You'll have to contact the person you sent the bitcoins to (you mentioned, "...the receiver claims they never got the payment as well as the site administrator on the forum.")
