If BCH is the real bitcoin and BTC is the alt coin, shouldn't the Bitcoin.com wallet use /m/44'/0'/0' for BCH and /m/44'/145'/0' for BTC? I know, I know, that would mean that when you start using the bitcoin.com wallet, you'd have to realize that it uses "BTC" to mean what everyone else uses "BCH" for and "BCH" for what everyone else uses "BTC" for. Still, at least people who started using wallets to hold BCH on the 145' path would still have access to the right HD addresses when they restore their wallet using BIP39 to the bitcoin.com wallet. As of now, that is impossible, and it's probably preventing a lot of users from getting (or, should I say, KEEPING) the bitcoin.com wallet once they learn that you can't get at your BCH holdings by restoring your wallet to bitcoin.com's wallet because it's hidden by the inaccessible derivation path /m/44'/145'/0'.
