using bch as money

Fri Jul 20, 2018 6:31 pm

I see quite a few places that take btc, but very few of those also take bch.
I don't know any place that takes bch and not btc. So how can bch be superior
as money when it is not circulated as widely as btc?

Independent of popularity the argument is that it is better suited as currency due to its faster transaction times and lower fees. Check out this infographic: https://www.bitcoin.com/info/bitcoin-ca ... tcoin-core

Thanks for the reply. The reason there is so much interest in crypto currency is because governments are doing such a bad job of managing their own currencies. To be successful, any currency must be widely accepted. The wider the acceptance, the more valuable it is. Even though bch is technically superior to btc, it has not achieved the same acceptance and it won't become more valuable until it gets that acceptance. History is full of examples of technically superior products being marginalized by better marketing of an inferior product.

BTC has been around longer, that is the only reason you may see more places accepting BTC. I would encourage you to ask them if they are interested in accepting BCH, once you mention the lower fees most will be very interested.

The Bitcoin Cash (BCH) movement is much larger now, and we are seeing more and more merchant adoption every week. Purse.io just started accepting BCH so that is a big move forward.

If you go to any BTC meetups, you will see that not many people seem to attend anymore. It almost looks like the old bitcoin community is slowly dying.
The weekly BCH meetups in Japan alone see around 100 people at each event i believe. BCH meetups where i am from are much more popular than BTC, i am not even sure the same group runs BTC meetups anymore.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) just has such a great community feel to it, like BTC did back 3-5 years ago.
So many new and exciting product are being built on top of the BCH network.

If you follow the Bitcoin.com news, you will be sure to read about the best of them ;)
