Trezor moves from closed source backend server to open source using Bitcore

Bitcoin hardware wallet Trezor announced today on their official blog that they are moving away from their proprietary closed source backend server to the open source supported Bitcore server. The move according to SatoshiLabs, the maker of Trezor, was done so that users do not have to depend on SatoshiLabs’ servers availability anymore. In case of a server downtime, users may switch to another Bitcore server within few seconds.

This also opens up the possibility of running your own Bitcore node on a spare computer and pointing myTrezor.com to it.
