We’re happy to finally announce that the update we’ve been working on for the past months is right around the corner. The most anticipated thing is that the entire site codebase is now written in Elixir. This means a huge performance improvement compared to the previous version and also means quicker bets and smaller minimum bet requirements for dice. Having that out of the way means we’ve been able to focus on New Games, Live Support, Improved Chat and much more.
On
October 20, BitDice will go offline for an upgrade.
To celebrate the release of the new version, we will also be running a wager competition with
2 BTC in prizes upon release! To see more information on this contest, please visit the following thread:
- Link will be posted soon!
- Codebase written in Elixir
- BitAces and Sports Betting introduced
- Chat (and private chat) have been rewritten
- Improved performance and reduced minimum bet size
- Improved transaction handling
We will transfer active accounts over to the new site but other accounts will be removed with the transition.
User levels have been reworked and will be based on $USD values in the future. We're moving to USD values in preparation of adding FIAT currency support to the site. In the future, users will have the choice between using FIAT or crypto currencies. With this update the stats are going to be reset. We’ll however rollover last 6 months of wager to the new system so active users’ levels will not completely be reset.
To ensure everyone is eligible for the rewards we have to offer we’re removing anonymous accounts. This means everyone must register using an email address. All existing anonymous accounts have to register an email address to continue using the site.
We have written the new version entirely in Elixir. This means a welcome boost to the site’s performance effectively meaning we can now accept bets (including small ones) with smaller delays and also reduce the minimum bet for our Dice game. Players will be able to bet as little as 0.00000001 DOGE per bet for example.
As most of you know we’ve been looking to introduce sports betting on BitDice and it’s finally possible. We’ll be offering better lines compared to many of our competitors as well as high betting limits.
We’re introducing another provably fair game called BitAces which has been revamped and is now being added back on the site. It’s a simple single-player poker game which will be an addition to the list of our own games.
We’ve also fixed multiple known issues in our Dice and Blackjack games which should mean a smoother experience for players.
Live Support is being added to the site which means customers will now have less issues contacting the site staff and thus issues are expected to be fixed much faster than before. We’ll be using Intercom to provide the support.
The chat (including private chat) has been written from scratch. We’ll also be adding Elixir chatbots (price checker, last block etc.) to the chat to make it more interactive and entertaining for everyone. In the future Admins and Mods will be separated from regular users with tags before their names.
Ethereum transactions will now work much better as variable fees are being added. This means transactions such as ethereum contract transactions will work without issues given that correct fees are being set.
Users can now add an address lock for CSNO transactions too which was previously a feature that only worked for other currencies. Some bugs with locked addresses have also been fixed and transactions won’t be randomly blocked due to issues with locked addresses anymore.
Withdrawal confirmation bugs have been fixed and confirmation shouldn’t be stalled anymore for slow connection etc. Issue with transactions containing multiple deposits has also been fixed.
2-Factor key is now being randomized after deactivation and thus a new key is provided each time.
