I jumped around a bit in one video and the guy says something along the lines of "isn't it strange that we can't feel the earth spinning". Seems like he needs to freshen up his knowledge in basic mechanics. With that logic you can come to the conclusion that airplanes are not actually flying, since you can't feel them move at 800 kph...

But since you seem to know a lot about this, could you please explain how the day-night cycle works with a flat earth? And how do eclipses work? Also explain why we haven't discovered the edge of the world yet, because there needs to be one if the earth is flat right? And why would anyone lie about this, what do they have to gain from it?

lol, i know the world is enclosed but in a different way than your fantasy spinning globe.
"no-one is more imprisend than the one thinking he is free."

day and night cycles, just watch the vids and you will awaken
you know very well that magnetic north pol and southern ring is off limits to private persons.
the lie about it is a whole new subject in itself.

anyone with a IQ higher than 10 knows water will always seek the lowest point and be flat. A 5000km high "mountain" of water in the middle of the pacific ocean with a distance of 18000km between Indonesia and equator, on the equator towns is pure fantasy.
but he santa is real too

I didn't mean to offend you with my post, I'm genuinely just curious about the model. My "belief" is that the earth is round and I have knowledge in physics and astronomy to back me up, however I enjoy thinking outside the box once in a while :)

Those videos contain many hours of content, and sadly I don't really have time for that. But I started watching the video called "Flat Earth - Simplified, Summarised, and Theorised", thinking it would sum up everything.

The first thing he starts with is bashing Newton. I mean, okay, you think he's wrong about gravity and everything else he has done so it's understandable. But literally all mechanics are built around his ideas. You wouldn't be able to watch those YouTube videos if it wasn't for Newton's work... He is not wrong, since everything we build works perfectly fine, and you can't even argue with that.

Then he shows some photos taken on earth which shows a flat horizon, and argues that this shows that the earth is flat. He compares it to a flea jumping off a basketball, meaning that the basketball-horizon (as seen from the fleas perspective) will drop and the curve will be visible. Fair enough, lets do some simple math!

Average size of a flea is about 0.2 cm. Diameter of a standard basketball is 25 cm. This gives us 0.2/25 = 0.008, meaning that the flea's height is 0.8% of the diameter of the "basketball-earth". The diameter of earth (assuming a ball-model) is 12742 km. For this analogy to hold, the human needs to be about 102 km tall, or the photo needs to be taken from that height at least. FYI Mount Everest is just short of 9 km high, and that's the photos he's comparing to. About 100 km up it at the Kármán Line, which defines the boundary between Earth's atmosphere and outer space. Here's a pitcture taken from that height:
http://www.howitworksdaily.com/wp-conte ... n-line.jpg
I can clearly see a curve, and this is without the "flea" even jumping! And he talks about the flea jumping 5 inches, which is like half the diameter of the basketball-earth. So literally his entire argument is invalid by just using basic math. But according to him every picture taken high up is fake, so I guess my point doesn't prove anything.

I don't have more time tonight, but I might continue watching it tomorrow just because I find it interesting :) Hopefully he makes some better proofs.

Also could you just answer one question for me: Why would anyone fake that the Earth is round? What do they have to gain from it?

If time is short for the long vids here is 200 proves the world is not a spinning rock.
http://www.atlanteanconspiracy.com/2015 ... -ball.html

Water and maths will always back up a "flat" world.

If you have something with a Circumference of 40075 units that gives a Radius of 6378.13 units
All good so far or?
Now if you take an Arc length of 1 unit of the 40075 it gives 0.0089831627002087 of a Degree (Angle)
All sweet, good.
With the above radius and degree you have a:
Chord length of 0.9999999989757555 unit (a wee bit less than the arc length of 1) and Sagitta (Height) of 0.00001959822085957352

Replace unit with km and you can see almost 2cm (3/4 inch) hump for a 1 km long swimming pool, or almost 2 meter if pool is 10 km long.
Show me please such a sea, lake or canal......

If anyone is interested making a whole lot of money. Build a 1 km long pool and charge entry fee by showing of the 2 cm hump in the middle. It is truly something but careful don't overdo it building a 10 km long pool gives you a awesome 2 m mathematical certified pump.
The equatorial cities Balikpapan Indonesia and Quito Ecuador are 18,293 km apart (12637 km underwater straight line) separated only by the pacific ocean which in the middle has a whopping 5508.60307 km elevation.

The "soft" edge reached, no chance getting to the hard edge.
