Purchased bitcoin as usual but was sent as BCH

I’ve done the same routine but after emailing simplex, they say the bitcoin cash was selected. However, i didn’t choose a BCH. There is actually no option for me to change BTC to BCH and I only changed from euro to usd.

Our address is belong to online transaction platform, we're not able to operate it in wallet app, such as "Exodus version 1.39.1", what we can do is just buy or sell BTC on the websitE...

Is my money lost and how did this error occur? I want to be able to use bitcoin.com.

Hi Carter,

Please contact support at the website, or web wallet (or "online transaction platform" as you've referred to it as), that you are using. Tell them that you've sent Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to your Bitcoin Address (BTC).

They should be able to recover the Bitcoin Cash as the keys are the same on both chains.

Is the wallet you were supposed to receive the funds to a Bitcoin.com wallet?

Just to clarify on how it happened, it may have just been a simple mistake, you would have been given the option to purchase either Bitcoin cash (BCH) or Bitcoin core (BTC), please see the screenshot below:

The crazy thing is there is no option like the screen shot. I just don’t see how I’ll be able to use again. There is still no way online for me to select cash on my iPhone.

That is strange that it is taking you to that screen, that should the next screen after you have clicked "Buy Bitcoin core" or "Buy Bitcoin cash".

Are you able to scroll down on that screen? There should be some white text at the bottom of that page that reads "Looking to buy Bitcoin cash?"

Could you also please specify what device and OS version you are running the app on please?

I used the website as a form of payment and have no control now and my money is just gone. I guess i have to use app.

That is a strange one alright, I have just checked the website myself and it gives me the option to select between (BTC) and (BCH).

The funds are not necessarily lost, a lot of wallets have steps in place to recover funds sent to the wrong address.

Your best course of action in this case is to contact your wallet providers support team and explain to them that you provided a (BCH) address when purchasing (BTC).
