Moving bitcoin

Tue May 01, 2018 5:40 pm

Ok if I want to move my coins to another wallet, and want the 12 backup phrase of the original wallet to be useless as far as accessing the coins in the blockchain...and I do not want the bitcoin to exist in both wallets...which method should I use?

Sweep, import, send, receive?

Hey Brags,

the easiest method in my opinion would be to just send the funds to a new wallet and delete the old one, it only takes a couple of minutes to create a new wallet and back it up.

Ya it's worth the little bit of fees to do it this way I think. Thanks.

Hey Brags,

I agree, and that way you can be 100% sure your new wallet is secure as you will have just created it and backed it up.
