Cannot see Received BTC in the Wallet

Fri Apr 27, 2018 1:02 pm

Hi,

I use the bitcoin.com wallet and am quite happy with it. I am in the process of setting up an ecommerce site in wordpress and woocommerce. Yesterday, I added the blockonomics plugin so that I will be able to accept bitcoin payments.

I set it up using the xpub key from my bitcoin.com wallet. Everything looks good and the blockonomics wallet watcher feature shows my bitcoin. The amounts agree with those displayed in the bitcoin.com wallet.

I then did a test transaction, buying one of my products. The test purchase was for $9.95. When I clicked the buy using bitcoin option, up came the send address generated by the blockonomics plugin, 1KncgcyVUiSLREPh2jbWtzUTUuJ8BL68iG.

I sent the equivalent of $9.95 in bitcoin which, at the time was 0.00108751 BTC from the bitcoin.com wallet. The send process completed successfully.

I was expecting to receive back the $9.95 in short order, less transaction fees of course. But, it never showed up in my wallet.
However, it does show up on the blockonomics wallet watcher page. Again it is monitoring the same xpub key as exists in the bitcoin.com wallet.

All of the transactions are the same except for the latest one: key = 1KncgcyVUiSLREPh2jbWtzUTUuJ8BL68iG, amount = 0.00108751 BTC which item is showing on the blockonomics web page for the xpub key, but not in the bitcoin.com wallet.

I contacted blockonomics and they tell me that I have to force a synchronization of the bitcoin.com wallet, but I don’t know how to do this.

I told them that I was unable to see the transaction in my bitcoin.com wallet and then they suggested the following:

“If they don't have the sync feature, Take the seed word backup of your bitcoin.com and import in another wallet like electrum/copay and you should find your funds there.”

I can try this, but it is concerning. I have settled on the bitcoin.com wallet and really don’t want to be spreading the “seed word backup” around from wallet to wallet just to get things to work correctly.

Can you help me fix this so that I can see these blockonomics based transactions in my bitcoin.com wallet?
Thank you!

Charles.

Now the URL you provided works and it is to the point. My wallet finally got fixed and showed the transaction yesterday. But I have saved the URL you posted because it provides a fix to the problem that I may need in the future.

This was the first time I sent something and have learned that when you send a specified quantity of BTC, that amount is exactly the quantity received by the receiver. The fee amount, which is displayed in the transaction, is additional. So, for example, when I sent $9.95 to myself, 0.00108751 BTC, that is the exact amount that was received. The 0.00024751 BTC fee was deducted from by BTC in addition to the amount sent. This makes good sense and now I know.

Interestingly, this transaction appears in the wallet as a single "Moved" transaction, rather than as two transactions, one "Sent" and one "Received." I guess that it is because the send address and the receive address are the same and are both in one wallet.

Thank you!
Charles.
