Central Bank of Taiwan Suggests Money Laundering Rules for Bitcoin
Taiwan Central Bank suggests new rules that bring bitcoin on the island existing antimoney laundering procedures.
In a meeting with Taiwan lawmaker on Monday central bank governor Yang Chinlong was asked how the banking authority address the current opacity in bitcoin trading in country as underlined by the recent price fall according to Central News Agency of Taiwan.
To responding enquiries of parliament member’s governor said central bank has improved its efforts in checking the instable movements of bitcoin prices and will issue warnings to stockholders over the risks of crypto currency transactions. He tell that banking authority has also suggested to Taiwan Ministry of Justice that bitcoin transaction should be controlled under current anti money laundering (AML).
However it to be seen if the proposal find support at the ministry the struggle marks the latest move by Taiwanese establishments in placing bitcoin rule on their program.
