Bitcoin will always be the coin that set the stage but since then more cryptocurrencies have emerged, each with the idea that they are an improvement of another in someway. That said, If you're judging only on market share then you could look at Bitcoin as being #1 and Ethereum as #2 and so on. On the other hand, you could(and should) also consider what they are being used for--what solutions they bring to our world as well as the features they hold that make them unique. For a cryptocurrency, I say it is Bitcoin Cash. Simply due to its ability to deliver everything required from the start. Other cryptocurrencies have limitations in one form or another. Bitcoin really dropped the ball on this one. Ethereum should have been a part of Bitcoin.
