Please help, bitcoin sent from gdax to bitcoin wallet but did not appear in my wallet, customer service is not respondin

Sun Mar 04, 2018 8:25 pm

Please help me with this issue:

I created an account on the Coinbase website. I purchased bitcoin on coinbase.

I downloaded a bitcoin wallet app for iphone from the bitcoin website, accessed from my phone. From what I remember, downloading this app did not require me to generate a password or username. I still have the same app and it still opens.

I logged into GDAX using coinbase login credentials. I sent the bitcoin from GDAX to the address of my bitcoin wallet. I checked my wallet, however, and no bitcoin (zero funds) were present. I then contacted customer service at bitcoin website (this website), coinbase (which runs GDAX), and Simplex (which has some association). The second two said they cannot help with this issue. GDAX did show me the "blockchain" transaction readout, which I had already seen, which is an online record that shows the transaction was correctly completed, and the address is the same as the address of my wallet.

The only other thing I can think of is to see if I have a "Bitcoin account" on the bitcoin website (not the app) and try to login to that. I do not know if this would even help. Also, as I mentioned above, I do not remember needing to create a bitcoin account when I downloaded the bitcoin free wallet app. (Please confirm if this sounds correct, or if I would have an online account, credentials, and if that would help to look into). Adding to my belief that I never had a bitcoin account on the website is the fact that my usual email addresses and login credentials I use for other websites do not work--no account associated with them. Also, I have no record of them, but I usually would have created a record of an online account.

Now I am very concerned and frustrated, trying to find out what else I can do to recover the funds. Bear in mind I am a new user to bitcoin, coinbase, etc. services, and have no experience with anything like trading/selling. However, I do not think this should matter. From what I understand, what I was trying to do was very simple. I simply purchased bitcoin on coinbase/gdax and tried to send it to the bitcoin free wallet, using the correct address. The amount of bitcoin lost is important to me because I am low income, as well as in principle.

I am very disappointed in the inconvenience this has caused so far. I am also very disappointed in the customer service of coinbase/gdax and especially bitcoin.com, because there are tons of cases where people are having their money lost or stolen, and no good way to even get in touch with people about it, at least at bitcoin, where they have not even responded.

Any ideas or help you can provide would be welcome and appreciated, as would a reply from bitcoin "contact us" if they come across this. Thank you. If you reply with a possible solution please be as complete as possible and do not assume I know shorthand for things. Also if you ask a question please continue to reply after I reply.

My ticket may have been from another email address, please check for an @albany.edu address ticket, which was not responded to. I will also submit another from this address.
