People argue pump and dumps are good for creating a community for a new coin, which can be true. Also, if done correctly, they can bring one significant profits. Overall though, pump and dumps should be seen as a negative practice in decentralized cypto space. A lot of distrust revolving the space comes from said practice, where certain people with enough resources can manipulate the market and create significant losses for naive people and stagnate innovation--which is what the crypto-world truly needs...
