Control of bitcoin.com and the community?

Wed Sep 30, 2015 9:55 pm

Is there some type of plan to create a non-profit foundation that controls the website and acts in the communities interest or will it mostly by under Roger's leadership?

I dont have a answer to this yet, maybe if Roger could drop in and post his ideas it would help.
At the moment I'm not sure where the funding to run this forum is coming from, if it was to come from donations then there should be a multi sig address where the BTC can be kept until needed.

If the money to run this forum is coming straight from Roger's pocket then i guess it's up to him how he wishes to spend it, but i don't see Roger as that type of person, he just seems to kind of a man to say "it's my money and I'll do what i want with it no matter what anybody says"
Please help Ross and his family during this hard time by donating to the https://freeross.org/ fund. Play at the best provably fair Bitcoin games site here: games.bitcoin.com Need a fantastic Bitcoin wallet Pick up some great Bitcoin.com swag here

I paid a large fortune for Bitcoin.com, and at this point, I plan to use it to promote Bitcoin, and the accompanying ideas that I think are important. (voluntaryism, and free markets)

For example, I would love to see more people read any, or all of these books:

Freedom 62 pages (free)
The Law 72 Pages (free)
The Most Dangerous Superstition 196 pages (free)

Of course, if you like those books you can support them by buying them on Amazon as well.

To date, Bitcoin.com has been nothing but a money sink hole, and I've been paying it all out of my own pocket.
If Bitcoin.com can take off and become popular, I think it can make decent money through its innovative advertising platform that was impossible before Bitcoin:
Promote Wallets
Promote Exchanges

If that happens, I will use that money to continue to promote Bitcoin and voluntaryism.

Lots of people seem to think that there is something more noble about non-profits, but in a free market, the fact that people are willing to pay you to do something, is a sign that they value what you are doing, and that you should do more of it. Money payments transmit information about people's preferences around the world, and Bitcoin lets that information flow freer than ever before.

If you read Socialism (600 pages, free) by Ludwig von Mises, you will learn that prices allow billions of people around the world to cooperate with each other, and find the most economically efficient use of limited resources to achieve the greatest fulfillment of human desires. Without money and prices to achieve this economic calculation, humans would have no idea what raw resources should be used to produce what consumer goods. It would just be a shot in the dark. Government's violent intervention into the market place distorts these payments, and disrupts the information that is being transmitted. This leads to resources being allocated in less efficient ways, and lowers the standard of living of everyone on the planet because of it. I hope to use Bitcoin.com as a platform to teach these economic truths, while at the same time, striping away power from governments. I want to allow peaceful people to engage in free trade anywhere on the planet, and I see Bitcoin as a tool to achieve this goal.

If Bitcoin.org wants to run as a non-profit, I don't have a problem with it, but Bitcoin.com will be run as a business, and because of that I think it will be able to be even more effective over time.
