Bitcoin advantages over other databases.

Hi, My first post here. like everyone else I hear about bitcoin and blockchain a lot and I'm excited about it. The most important thing about it is of course its use cases which are really great. But after thinking about most of them I realize they can also be implemented by usual databases. I wanted to ask what is the advantage of bitcoin and blockchain comparing to other databases besides being decentralized.

A key difference is that a database is controlled by a central entity and the blockchain is controlled by the consensus of a decentralized network. In practice this could be relevant if/as you cannot trust that the person in charge of a database will not tamper with it for their own gain (imagine adding some zeros to your bank balance in the database) and you don't need to trust Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a trust-less database of sorts controlled by cryptography rather than people. If you agree that people cannot be trusted but that math can be, then you already understood why Bitcoin is different, you just didn't know it yet!
