Yes. Eventually bitcoin should have no single point of anything and no single voice. A bitcoin foundation is a form of centralization.

I don't mind developers of some branch forming a foundation, but that should focus on that branch only.

I really dislike any entity pretending to represent my interests yet I am not a member and I do not support them. This is the bitcoin foundation from my perspective; )

I don't think there's anything wrong with a collective group of people coming together to form a foundation to help with greater needs such as lobbying, education, etc.

Unfortunately the "Bitcoin Foundation" went beyond that claiming to be the 'official' foundation of Bitcoin, which there is none, which we all know. They also mishandled funds very badly for a long time, wasting donor funds and giving the foundation a bad name, with infighting and drama.

I wouldn't be against other groups coming together to better Bitcoin so long as they don't claim to be anything they aren't.

personally i think it should be abandoned because too much bad stuff happend. it feels like 50% of all members are in jail now...

today we have Coincenter which is doing great work and the Chamber of Digital Commerce. we have a voice today. people hear us. bitcoin is not a fad anymore and politicans know where to go if they need informations.
