Mining On a basic pc would probably not be worth it financially but dose give you a good idea on starting on the low end. you should work your self up to a rig or maybe cloud mining but don't know how profitable that is atm with Bitcoins price at a low.

so iv been recent researching in to mining cryptocurrencies and am thinking of jumping into it. I looked into the costs and logistics of buying or building a mining rig and though I feel confident I could build one, I'm not sure I want to be tied to one location as I would need to be if I had a rig plugged in somewhere. The cost of power in the uni make mining here not profitable.

That's when I discovered cloud mining companies that offer mining contracts. The two main companies I looked into were Genesis and HashFlare. you can make a good profit off these sites. but if you compound you cash over few month you would easily make enough good enough amount to be happy with.
