Bitcoin owned by deceased sibling

Mon Dec 11, 2017 6:49 pm

Hi. I apologize if I've posted this question in the wrong area. My brother owned bitcoin, and has passed away. Would it be possible to access his account somehow if I have his personal information and death certificate?

Thank you for any assistance.

What is meant by Bitcoin is not tied to an identity? I have the same question. My son died in 2017 and I have reason to believe he had Bitcoin and i need to know how i can find out.

You can search his computer for Bitcoin wallet apps or his room for a paper with QR codes
I wish that were possible. He used his phone a lot to access the internet and his phone was destroyed. Do you have any other suggestions?
