Help with scanning QR code...!

Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:15 pm

I can't get the Lamassu ATM to read the QR code from off my iPhone 5 using the Bitcoin App. I tried generating a new address, displaying in legacy, BitPay, and new style. The convenience story owner came by and took out his phone and was immediately able to scan his code off his phone. Anybody have a solution here? Is there an issue with iPhone 5? (Tried calling Lamassu - nobody there to answer the phone).

Are you using Bitcoin.com wallet? Its sound like you are, but just want to confirm.

You mention the option to change the address format (e.g., legacy address and 'new style'). If you're seeing those options it's because you're in a Bitcoin Cash (BCH) wallet (within your Bitcoin.com wallet). Are you trying to use Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH)?

I understand that the Lamassu ATM manufacturer started supporting Bitcoin Cash just last month (or at least I believe it was sometime in December, 2017). However, I'm not sure that BCH has been integrated into all of their ATMs yet.

If you're trying to use Bitcoin (BTC) please make sure that you are in a Bitcoin wallet (within your Bitcoin.com wallet).

I'm sorry that I cannot be of too much help.

Bitcoin.com is just one domain name used to promote Bitcoin. Bitcoin.com is not an official website. Just like nobody owns the email technology, nobody owns the Bitcoin network. As such, nobody can speak with authority in the name of Bitcoin.
