It seems insanity is not the exclusive domain of the Japanese police. The Dutch police are said to be training birds of prey to catch drones.

All it takes as a defense against these beautiful birds is to put up some decoy drones with razor blades (or similar) to disable the attackers. This only increases the risk in case of an accident, and hurts these birds.
