Pretty damning if you ask me.

I can't for the life of me figure out what is so exciting about lightning hubs if you want censorship resistance and financial sovereignty . It seems the total opposite of that.

People seem to be getting very excited that Lightning Network is being rolled out slowly. But if all it adds is some extra latency before transactions are on the main chain, and extra risk until that point, I don't see why it's such an exciting development.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the current narrative around LN seems to be one with a lot of hype, but not much explanation of the real value that will be added through use of this network.
