can you give us a summary?
My assumption is due to block size limits. Bitcoin can only handle so much data in each block. Each tx is data that needs to be passed to the blockchain. When we hit high tx volume days, like recently (more use, more tx's), more often we are getting fuller blocks due to more tx's. Once the blocks fill the mempool fills too. Everything gets backed up and tx's slowdown and get delayed.
