I don't know. There is some interesting evidence to point to him, but there is also evidence that has been added or altered. It could just be someone who is trying to steal Nakamoto's credit and fame. He could be disgruntled: "I have 100 articles and no fame and Nakamoto has 1 article and all round respect".

It seems like he wanted to be found. He could prove it all so easily with a cryptographic signature yet we have this movie script style evidence. To me that makes a No more likely.

But there was an 'I don't know' option and at this point that is the case.

Honestly, at this point I do think it is much more likely that he is Satoshi than he is not.

However, I'd be the first to agree there is no definite proof that he is.

But then again there are too many strange parts of the story and I can't imagine why, if Dr. Craig Wright was not Satoshi he would want to want to leave so many signs lying around (and possibly leak documents).

If he didn't leak the documents himself, then we have to ask: if he was so surprised that Gizmodo had his files, than were the files true? Why didn't he deny the files then?

And why did he reply with a different email address when Wire contacted him?

Other potential Satoshis have all been quite quick and adamant to deny that they are Satoshi. Dr. Wright could be just playing us all up for laughs, , but if it is it is a very thought out, long-prepared hoax.

TL;DR Because Dr. Wright doesn't have a good motive to prepare such a long-drawn out hoax, it's a good chance he is Satoshi.

Craig Wright is high priority for a very good reason. The Australian government knows because they raided his house and offices. His wrights so far have been violated.

To obtain a warrant to do such things, you would need to build a case, go see a judge and organize a team of police. This takes at a minimum, a couple of weeks up to a few months! All this news just hit the wire yesterday.

Poor guy, right before Christmas My sympathy goes out to his family and this horrible act.

The only thing that puzzles me is that for such a smart guy, he has made some serious mistakes. I couldn't see a smart person making these mistakes, although add in ego and its all out the door.

For legal reasons, I am interested in seeing this case unfold as to how the Australian government is taxing Bitcoin when it is not regulated in their country. This part of the story is where his wrights were violated and that is not good for any Australian.
