Thanks for asking. The initial reason behind keeping the code closed source for so long was to prevent scam coins from popping up using our codebase. We are still wary of these shitcoin developers and don't want to give them the ability to incorporate our latest updates until we get more exposure to the Bitcoin community.Interesting. We expect to have our core updates done within 2 weeks and new wallets out, which will be open-sourced as well. Hopefully from that point forward, all updates will be committed to the public repo.
We are also in discussions with some big developers of other projects related to Bitcoin and decentralized systems, and hope to have a podcast done shortly with http://youmeandbtc.com/
