Locked BTC
I attempted to purchase a VPN on 27 November, but the transaction timed out. I tried again with my other wallet and the same thing happened. It still shows up in each wallet as "Unsent transactions," but in one wallet, the amount I attempted to spend is locked and in the other (a much larger balance), the entire balance of the wallet is locked. Both transactions show up as expired. How do i unlock these balances?

The Bitcoin SegWit blocks are full and as a result only those who pay the highest fee get included in the block.
Do you see your transaction on a block explorer as unconfirmed?
e.g. on https://www.blockchain.com/.
If your fee is to low you can try to accelerate it here: https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
They only accelerate a limited number of tx per hour so you best chance to get one in is every full hour.
Or you can wait 14 days until the transaction is removed from the mempool and "returned" to your wallet.
