Sent BTC to my BTCC wallet. Can I recover?

I just recently set up a bitcoin.com wallet so I could buy and store BTCC. Upon creating the wallet I sent BTC over from my coinbase wallet so I could purchase the BTCC. Turns out I set the BTC to my bitcoin.com BTCC wallet address on accident. I checked blockchain.info and the bitcoin was received by the wallet...but is obviously inaccessible given it is set up as a BTCC wallet and the wallet shows 0 balance. How can I recover my BTC from the BTCC wallet? Any help would be much appreciated.

If you sent BTC (i.e., Bitcoin) to your BCH (i.e., Bitcoin Cash) address you may recover your BTC by following the instructions on this page:

Hi Carbit,

For that step 'Turn on Bitcoin (BTC)' you have to select BTC (and not BCH. If it's already set to BTC then that's fine how it is) as the coin. There should be a drop down arrow below wallet name.

May I ask if this transaction was from Simplex? Also, did you accidentally use your BCH (i.e., Bitcoin Cash) address to receive BTC (i.e., Bitcoin)?

Are you using a Bitcoin.com wallet? If so, did you use your BCH address or you BTC address?

am using Bitcoin wallet on my phone and i sent my BTC address for the transfer.

Hi nandibear, I am using the Bitcoin.com wallet on my phone and not a computer. I do not see the option to "turn on bitcoin" nor are options 5 and 6 visible. On the phone app there are "Home" ,"Receive" , "Scan" , "Send" , "Settings." I tried to attach an image of my screen but it appears only URL's can be attached. I did not realize that BTC and BCH were on different blockchains. Here's what I originally did. I pushed the receive button on my bitcoin.com app which defaulted to the BCH wallet key. I entered this key into my coinbase account and sent. It took about 6 hours for my coinbase account to verify funds sent. At this point I do not have the funds in my bitcoin.com account. This appears to be due to the funds being sent from coinbase as BTC and trying to receive as BCH on my bitcoin.com wallet. I'm trying to figure out how to get the funds into my bitcoin.com wallet. Thank you for your help.

Here's a screenshot from the app (you should be on this page when you are doing step #3):

For the COIN you must select, in your case, BTC. If it's already set to BTC (rather than BCH) then there's nothing else that you need to do for step #4.

Hi nandibear, at this point the app will not let me out of the "Receive" screen. Any idea how to get back to my "home" screen? Okay a Restart of the phone enabled me to get out of the Receive screen!

I suggest searchingh your BTC address on an explorer (such as https://blockchain.info/ ) to make sure that there is BTC at your address.

Perhaps you accidentally used your BCH (i.e., Bitcoin Cash) address to receive BTC (i.e., Bitcoin). If you might have done that please follow these instructions:

You'd have to use an exchange to trade BTC for BCH.

Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are two entirely separate cryptocurrencies and they operate on two entirely separate blockchains. This means that Bitcoin (BTC) sent to an address on the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain will never appear nor be present on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain.

You might try the ShapeShift.io exchange: https://shapeshift.io/

ShapeShift.io is exceptionally easy to use and you don't need to create an account or anything. All that you need to do on their site is select BTC to be traded for BCH and then follow the instructions for providing your BCH receive address and then sending your BTC to an address provided by ShapeShift.
