Tried to send Bitcoin and it deposited (for a fee) into the same wallet! WTF?

So, I tried to send some bitcoin to an address. I thought it pasted, was asked if I'd pay a fee, clicked yes...only to have it transferred back to the same wallet (!!!!) minus the fee. What the heck just happened and is there any way to get that fee back?
