I really hope somebody can give me some idea where to go from here.
I remembered I had mined some bitcoin back in 2011 and when I noticed the spike in value i figured I better find them. So I loaded up the old hard drive I had used at the time and fired up the bitcoin program. I had almost 1.7 bitcoins there.
I then figured I should get these secured into a new wallet so I downloaded a wallet from bitcoin.com made a wallet and backed it up. Then I sent the bitcoin from my old wallet to my new one.
The problem is my old wallet says it sent and my balance is now 0 and my new wallet hasn't received anything. I have waited 3 days now since I heard everything was slow due to volume then I started looking into it and learned about checking the block chain. When I inquire about the sending address or the receiving address it says no transactions have been done on these addresses and they both balance 0.
Is it possible that my old wallet just thought it was sent but it never actually got the transaction to the block chain for some reason. I am pretty new to this so any help would be appreciated. I just cant understand how they could just vanish.
At current rates this coin is worth a small fortune as you know. If anybody here can successfully help me retrieve my bitcoin while they are still valuable I will gladly reimburse you very well for your time.
