Bitcoin never came through

Thu Dec 07, 2017 8:30 pm

So I ordered my first bitcoin through the website on 5/12/17 and I have still not received the coins. I copied and pasted the address and now the address is not the same and I cannot find it. Can you help please as I'm slightly confused. Thankyou.

If you use the Bitcoin.com wallet you can see all addresses under
Settings -> [your wallet] -> More options -> Wallet addresses

The Bitcoin (SegWit) network is currently congested and thus transactions can take much longer to confirm or might never confirm.

Check if the transaction to yout address has been confirmed using the block explorer.
BTC: https://explorer.bitcoin.com/btc

If the transaction is not yet confirmed you can try a tx accelerator to get them confirmed quicker.

This is exactly what has happened to me. The money has left my credit card account but still nothing in my wallet after two days. This is my first trial of bitcoin and I am not impressed. If nothing appears how can I get my money back. I don’t have a copy of the bitcoin address as I simply copied and pasted it from the app.

Unfortunately Bitcoin (SegWit/Core) has been failing to scale for some time which is why Bitcoin Cash forked away on Aug 1st.
There are currently over 200'000 transaction in the queue and Bitcoin SegWit can only process roughly 2000 every 10 minutes.

Bitcoin Cash has increased the block size by 8x and is planning to increase it even more such that there won't be problems like we see them today with Bitcoin SegWit.

I suggest to find your address and use a tx accelerator.
If your transaction is dropped after 14 days you need to contact the ATM vendor.

Is there any way to find the address I used for that transaction? I realise now that I should have recorded it but being a newby I wasn't really aware of it's importance. Using the iPhone app it's easy to just cut and paste but on the iPhone there is no record of the contents of the clipboard so the address is lost.

I realise the delay problem but I've been waiting far longer than 1000 minutes.

If you use the Bitcoin.com wallet you can see all addresses under
Settings -> [your wallet] -> More options -> Wallet addresses

Start at the top and check them in the block explorer.

BTC: https://explorer.bitcoin.com/btc/

Once you found it check how many sat/B you are paying for the fees and let me know.
