Unable to find my Bitcoin

I am unable to find my Bitcoin. This is embarrassing but true.

I assume that I purchased few Bitcoin in 2011. I have changed my computer and I am not sure how to find my Bitcoin.

Please suggest all possible ways to find lost Bitcoin.

Or if there is a way to authenticate and get the information from you.

Do you remember what wallet you used back then?

Could it be that it was Bitcoin-Qt which had to download the blockchain first?
In this case you need a backup of the wallet.dat file of that client.
Without the file your bitcoins will be forever lost.

I'm in the same situation. I know I bought some years ago when I first heard of them. I remember using them on a site that I was bidding on items but can't remember what.

Do you remember which local wallet you used?
Did you get a seed of words in the English language?
